Consulting

Consulting has long been an integral part of FTP Media’s services. Whether advising clients on best practices for digital media production, social media management, user engagement strategies, or video production, FTP Media has provided consultation to many clients across various sectors since the company’s inception.

I have worked with Lisa Santonato, and have hired her services, on a number of occasions since 2005. I would recommend her for any job related to electronic media, especially projects associated with music and the arts. While it is true that Lisa is professional, creative, trustworthy and reliable, her number-one asset is that she truly cares about people, and about her clients specifically. She will go the extra mile and comes from the heart. It truly feels like you have a trusted ally on your side when you work with Lisa. This is both comforting and motivating. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and her drive is impressive. I look forward to working with her again!

Media Archival

FTP Media assists clients with media management and archival services, including the digitization and cataloguing of source media found on various historical formats such as VHS, Beta or Super 8 film. FTP Media has worked with organizations large and small, as well as individuals and groups, to ensure the online protection, preservation, and strategic implementation of all pre-digital and new forms of media for current and future social media use.

Lisa is a highly motivated, results-driven creative producer, comfortable in the worlds of (analog) film and video, digital video, and on-line media. Lisa worked with Bruce Mau Design to help turn literally millions of digital assets on every form of media imaginable into one consistent, coherent beautiful knowledge utopia. This was trying, sometimes excruciatingly tedious work, but Lisa made it a creative exercise, to great effect for our company. Lisa is now working with us to push more of our content onto the web, on our own sites, but also in Web 2.0 channels like Flickr, YouTube and Facebook. Also, we are hiring Lisa to produce video documents of upcoming BMD events. I cannot recommend Lisa highly enough.

Bruce Mau Design – Media Archival & Webcasting

FTP Media was hired for a one-year contract to consult on and digitally archive Bruce Mau Design‘s entire body of work, firstly by taking more than 8 terabytes of offline digital media assets (located on hundreds of CD- and DV-ROMs) and transferring them to the BMD servers. Then, through a process of cataloguing all materials, FTP established a comprehensive, locally-based media archive. As a result of this lengthy and detail-oriented process, many items representing significant areas of client work were now available internally, allowing the design firm the means to access and showcase their extensive body of work and develop a complete website redesign.

Video Production

At FTP Media, we understand the power of online video. Whether the goal is to create a viral video or live webcast, we continually work to achieve three core objectives. Our first step is to work with our clients’ to understand their communication needs and then to ensure those needs are met in the process of developing a sound budget, script, production outline and digital strategy. Next, we channel our efforts into delivering a high quality production, on time and on budget. From the outset through to the final stages, we also provide consultation and support on the development and implementation of user engagement strategies.

I commissioned Lisa to help with a video shoot for my company. I had never engaged in developing one myself and Lisa was most helpful in providing her insight and expertise to guide me as I navigated unchartered waters. She made me look like a pro in front of senior leaders in my organization who were the stars of the video. Lisa is extremely talented and has a knack for guiding a newbie in a very professional manner. I hightly recommend Lisa as a partner to work with.

Spookey Ruben: Bed and Breakfast (EPK)

Toronto-based recording artist Spookey Ruben, famous for the success of his 1996 album release “Modes of Transportation,” invited FTP Media Founder and Director Lisa Santonato to apply for a PromoFACT award to produce an Electronic Press Kit for his latest release. The application was submitted and successful. The challenge was on. How to capture the energy of the artist known as Spookey, and update fans on his whereabouts over the years? It took a trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco to find out, but find out we did… with a little help of an old VHS tape featuring Spookey performing live in his early years. This is FTP Media’s EPK for Spookey Ruben, featuring songs from the double-disc album release of 2001, “Bed” and “Breakfast.” © FTP Media Inc. 2003.

Webcasting

In November 2009, FTP Media responded to the growing demand for online video production services by adding webcasting to the suite of services offered. Following the completion of an extensive media archival project, FTP Media was hired by Bruce Mau Design to webcast their studio launch event at BMD’s new Toronto headquarters. Since the success of this first event, FTP Media has continued to provide webcasting services to clients in the corporate and non-profit sectors, delivering quality and reliability to clients seeking reasonable rates with guaranteed results.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Lisa several times on livestream productions in Toronto and Ottawa. Lisa is a consummate professional – and has worked seamlessly with teams – whether of her own creation or that she joined for a specific project. She is a very highly skilled videographer and director, in addition to her technical and production skills in relation to livestream. I would highly recommend her for any livestream or video production work.
